Blessing of the Animals

Saturday, October 3, 2026 | 4 p.m.

All creatures great and small, furry, feathered or finned, are invited to receive a blessing and a St. Francis medal at this informal service hosted by the Holy Spirit community and St. Athanasius Church on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 4 p.m. Fr. Thomas Carey  presiding. If your pet can’t make it, or has crossed the Rainbow Bridge to pet heaven, bring a photo or a memento to share and be acknowledged. Look for the “Blessing of the Animals” sign on the east slope of the lake, just north of the swan boat rental facility. Dogs are welcome, of course, but must be on a leash.
